Fees, payment & Insurance:
Do you accept my insurance? We accept most major medical insurance companies including Regence, Premera, Aetna, First Choice and Uniform. We also accept Labor and Industries and Medicare. To find out if we are preferred providers for your insurance, you can contact your insurance company or call the office.
How do I know if these treatments will be covered by my insurance? You can contact your insurance company and ask about outpatient Occupational Therapy benefits. Insurance companies vary in how they cover Occupational Therapy services.
Do you take PIP (Personal Injury Protection)? Yes. We do accept PIP coverage and will bill your insurance company. Please know that we require you to sign a lien for any non-medical insurance billing. Also, you are ultimately responsible for all charges incurred.
Do you accept cash payments? While most of our patients use their insurance to pay for treatment, we do have a cash rate..
Do you take credit and/or debit cards? At this time we do not accept credit or debit cards for treatment costs. We do accept personal checks.
Your Office Visits:
How long is an appointment? Appointments typically last between 50 minutes to an hour in length. As you improve, or as your condition dictates, it is possible your treatment may take less time.
What should I expect during my first visit? Your first visit will consist of an evaluation and as time permits, treatment. You will be in a private room with the therapist. During the evaluation the therapist will look at your posture, ask questions about your condition and the history of your condition. She will also palpate the suspected muscles that are involved. For both the evaluation and treatment you will need to be dressed in a manner that will allow the therapist to see and touch parts of your body while maintaining your comfort and privacy.
What are subsequent visits like? During subsequent visits the therapist will check in with how you are doing and have been since your last session. You will receive treatment that may include hands-on treatment, instruction in posture and breathing, stretching and exercise as appropriate, instruction in adapting behaviors and positioning that may influence your condition, and many other techniques and approaches as are appropriate for your condition.
How many treatments will I need? This is a very subjective question and cannot be determined prior to treatment. Each person and each condition is unique. It also depends upon how active you are during your treatment. Patients are asked to be active during treatment by following through with stretches and exercises, monitoring posture and postioning, and paying attention to activities and postures that influence your condition.
Do you keep in contact with my doctor during treatment? Your doctor will receive a copy of the Initial Evaluation Report and is asked to return a signed copy to our office for treatment to continue. A part of the Initial Evaluation contains a treatment plan that indicates duration and frequency of visits. We expect that you will attend treatment in accordance with the plan that is approved of by your doctor and as is monitored and adjusted by the therapist in order to remain in active treatment. Your doctor will be kept informed of your progress with periodic Progress Reports.

How will I know when my treatments are over? The length of ….
Out of town Patients:
What if I live at a distance from your office? We do have patients that travel for treatment. This has been accomplished in different ways depending upon the distance. It is not unusual to have a patient drive for an hour for treatment. We have also had patients stay in the area for an overnight and have treatment on the day of arrival and on the day of departure. We have even provided daily appointments for patients willing to stay in the area for longer, but this can take some time to arrange.
Is there someone in my area that does what you do? We do keep record of students that have studied with Laurie and would love to help refer you to one of her students if there is one in your area. Please contact the office to find out.
