The pelvis is the key to the entire structure. Asymmetries due to trigger points or fascial restrictions in the pelvis and/or lower extremities can perpetuate trigger points and pain patterns through the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical musculature. It is vitally important to examine the pelvis and lower extremities for dysfunction when treating pain conditions throughout the body.
Course Outline:
This workshop is designed to give you an understanding of structural and postural asymmetries and how to correct them using trigger point release and myofascial release techniques. It will also cover specific referral patterns from individual muscles. These techniques are used for low back pain and hip pain, and to balance and align the pelvis to relieve trigger points in the thoracic and cervical musculature.
Course Objectives:
- Complete a comprehensive postural evaluation.
- Identify and treat specific trigger points in the pelvis and lower extremities.
- Understand how structural and pelvic distortions contribute to pain throughout the body.
- Identify and treat upslips, pelvic rotations and leg length discrepancies.
